A coach party from March and Wisbech, earlier in the summer, went to visit The North Norfolk Railway, (‘Poppy Line’) at Sheringham to enjoy the opportunity to make steam train trips on the Sheringham – Weybourne- Holt railway. Throughout the day we were able to make numerous trips along the line.

The day also included the pleasure of a lunch taken en route in the dining cars of the restored Quad Arts carriages, built originally by Sir Nigel Gresley in 1924.

The day also included a guided tour of the engine shed and workshops to view the on-going restoration projects as well as a chance to see a model railway layout at Weybourne.

There was plenty of opportunity for everyone to explore the various other attractions along the Poppy Line. This included the splendidly restored Edwardian loos at Weybourne for those who needed to make the detour!

There was also ample time for general socialising and strolls around Sheringham and an enjoyable and rain-free day trip to the coast at this popular location was enjoyed by all.
